What I Wore: Sweater + Shorts

I feel like lately my life has been a whirlwind of craziness. I am not complaining because if I wasn’t busy, that would worry me a lot more. However, in order to keep my sanity, I needed this weekend to be chill. That is exactly what I got; case and point: I have been laying in my bed for the last 4 hours with no real intention of moving any time soon.

My bff, Derek came into town, and we just sorta decided to play it by ear. We ate a lot, we went to see the Carrie re-make, and

Healthy Ways to Have Fun This Weekend!

This is why Facebook is a wonderful thing: I noticed that my former roommate, Alix Altit, decided to become a personal trainer! As part of that, she started a YouTube channel with health and fitness videos. The other day, she posted a video with a recipe for a healthy fig martini (check it out below!), and thought it would make a great pre-weekend post.

All week I have been looking forward to this weekend because my best friend is coming in town, and we are going to have a fabulous night out. Every once in a while you

What I Wore: Delicate Gold Necklaces

As you continue to read my blog, one thing that you must know about me is I have major obsessions. I get hooked on random, stupid things that no one else cares about. Past obsessions: Harry Styles, white men’s t-shirts, American Apparel lamé leggings, chunky bracelets, the list could really go on and on.

Right now, I am totally obsessed with layering dainty gold necklaces. There is something just kinda charming about them. The other day I went to the mall, and went on a rampage buying more so I could have a variety.

I have been wearing

What I Wore: Vintage T

Finding the perfect vintage t-shirt is like finding a needle in a hay stack. Whenever I go to a thrift store, I always hit up the t-shirt section first because I am on a perpetual mission to expand my collection. It is more challenging than it sounds because the perfect vintage t-shirt has to be a combination of well worn, soft, baggy and long enough.

It is about 100% humidity today, so I wanted to wear something comfortable; there is nothing more comfortable than a t-shirt and jeans. Then, since it is freezing in my office, I just added a

3 Things I Wished I Had Known In My 20s: Hallie Rich

alternavites boxHallie Rich grew up in the vitamin industry; her family consisted of formulators, manufacturers and marketers. While she spent many years promoting vitamins, the irony was she had never actually taken a vitamin because she couldn’t swallow pills. As they say, “necessity is the mother of innovation”, so she decided to create the alternaVites brand to solve the latter problem.

She created a comprehensive multivitamin & mineral mixture in crystal powder form that

3 Things I Wished I Had Known In My 20s: Bogumila Sobiczewska

st_1768_rgbWhen I travel, there are two things that I always want to do: eat and shop. It is pretty easy to find information about all the best local restaurants, but it can be challenging to find boutiques and local shopping spots. In May of this year, Bogumila Sobiczewska came up with a solution to the latter problem in the form of a website called, ShopTrotter!

The navigational shopping site makes shopping trips stress-free by finding the stores you would be most interested in.

What I Wore: Sweaters + Sandals

I LOVVVVEE TEXAS. The main reason I love living in Texas = no real winter! Yes, it gets cold for a few days, just long enough to bust out my favorite coats and boots, but then it is back to warm temps. This time of year is perfect because its cool in the mornings, but warm in the afternoons. This allows for my favorite fashion combo: sweaters and sandals.

When I lived in Boston/NYC, I hated the winters. The snow was pretty for a few days, but the appeal wore off quickly. The thing that annoyed me most about winters

The End of Conde Nast’s Internship Program

Well folks, I am sure you have heard the devastating news: Conde Nast (publisher of Vogue, Glamour, GQ, etc.) is ending their internship program at the end of the year. After a handful of lawsuits filed by ex-interns over violations of minimum wage and overtime laws, the company has just decided to not have interns anymore. Here is the full article on WWD.

To me, this seems like an extremely drastic move. The fashion industry can’t survive without interns!! They do all the grunt work that everyone else is to glamorous to do. The end of internships

Ok for anyone that knows me, I get obsessed with things really easily. Most of the time, I get obsessed with really stupid things that no one cares about. Case and point this new sweatshirt dress that I bought at Old Navy over the weekend. I can’t stop talking about it because it is the most perfect specimen of clothing. It feels like you are wearing your favorite over-sized, worn-in sweatshirt only it looks like a normal dress, so it is socially acceptable to wear to work. I wore it meet with a potential new client yesterday.
