December 7, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion I am not a big drinker. In fact, I rarely have any type of alcohol. I don’t really have a reason for why. It is just as I get older, I have just become really lame. Not to mention, hangovers at 26 are beyond brutal. However, I made a rule for myself that I have to get drunk once every 6-8 weeks because, look, I am not 90. I am still young, and let’s be real: the crazy nights that you reminisce about about with friends for years usually involve some alcohol.
The point of that whole spiel was to

December 6, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Um, yeah it is cold in Austin right now; the high today is only 39 degrees! Okay, I know I am a wuss because if you live somewhere like Minnesota or Iowa, this is nothing. For Texas, it is cold! And, during the winter, we don’t always think about what the harsh weather does to our hair! It can be brutal!
Luckily, beauty & style expert, Tai Beauchamp, gave us the inside scoop on easy ways to keep your hair healthy and looking fabulous this winter season:
Tip 1: Frizz-Free in the Frost Whether your hair is relaxed

December 5, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion Yesterday, my friend posted a BuzzFeed article on my Facebook wall: “26 Problems Only Anxious People Will Understand“. I can basically relate to everything on this list, which is sad. My anxiety has been especially high over the past week because I finally moved into a real adult apartment. Yes, I upgraded from my tiny studio to a one bedroom. I know, I am movin’ on up in the world.
While I am totally obsessed with my new apt, it is a bit stressful because I still have boxes everywhere, and I feel like my whole life is

December 5, 2013 by Rebekah in Career, ETC. We all want to be awesome at our careers. In order to do that, we have to stand out, get ahead of the change curve, and stay relevant, by going far beyond our job description.
Jesse Sostrin, author of Beyond the Job Description: How Managers and Employees Can Meet the True Demands of the Job, believes that to go beyond our job description we have to get around, what he calls, the hidden curriculum of work, which are things such as: the need for continuous learning and performance and the presence of performance barriers. When we

December 1, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Another shopping center, another fantastic restaurant. It is an on going theme in Austin. O’Daku Sushi is my go-to sushi spot; I am pretty sure I have taken everyone I know there. At this point, I have been so many times that I have ordered the majority of the menu, and everything rocks.
This is a bold statement, but O’Daku is probably my favorite sushi place of all time. Cherin Sushi (another one of my favs) in the East Village is the only place that really compares.
NAME: O’Daku Sushi
ADDRESS:
2501 W Parmer Ln

November 30, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle This was a good week for many reasons: 1) I only worked Monday and Tuesday 2) I got to spend Thanksgiving with my crazy, but totally lovable family 3) I ate way too much delicious food
I know, we are cute.
The short week didn’t prevent me from getting obsessed with lots of random things:
1) Watch Kanye West’s new video for Bound 2. Then, watch James Franco and Seth Rogen’s AMAZING Read More
November 27, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion I am usually not a big fan of clothes with graphics on them; I am more of a solid kinda gal. However, when I saw this shirt from Eyes on Walls, I was pretty excited about it.
This particular shirt is part of The Brooklyn Collection, which is inspired by the “intersection of fashion and street art found in the area.” The shirt features Lora Zombie’s popular piece ‘Big Bang Kiss’.
At first when I was trying to decide what to pair the shirt

November 27, 2013 by Rebekah in Career, ETC. Fact: finding a job is a numbers game. The more contacts, friends, phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interviews you have, the more likely you are to land a reasonable position in this difficult economy.
Tony Beshara, Ph.D., creator The Job Search Solution has placed over 100,000 people in jobs with the ideology of “if you manage the process, the result (landing a great job) will take care of itself.” He REALLY knows what he is taking about!
The majority of questions I get from people reading this blog, have to do with the job search process, and how

November 25, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion As I mentioned before, it was cold and rainy all weekend in Austin, so it was the perfect time to bust out all my over-sized sweaters and leggings. I was excited because on Saturday, the cold front finally gave me a reason to wear my new zip up cardigan from Old Navy (c/o). It was just as warm and cozy as I had anticipated.
One of the things I love the most about Austin is that you are in a city, but with a quick 15-20 minute drive you can be in the middle of no

November 25, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion True, but embarrassing: sometimes when I can’t decide what outfit to wear, I ask my dog. Obviously, she can’t actually answer, but if she wags her tail, then I just assume she is telling me that she likes it. I know, it is pathetic; I am well on my way to becoming a dog lady.
Luckily, I no longer need to ask my dog for fashion advice because now there is an app for that. Postelio lets you quickly ask friends and family for their fashion opinions while you’re out shopping. How cool is that?!
We all know
