While Claire definitely doesn’t have your typical 9-to-5 job, I wanted The other day I was having a conversation with an acquaintance of mine, and she kept telling me about all the things she was going to do when she lost weight. I left the conversation feeling annoyed and angry because she was willing to pause her whole life for something so superficial. But mostly, I was sad that she couldn’t see that she was already fabulous. I honestly hate talking about weigh because it should be a non-issue. Who cares? Really. However, this conversation just really left me thinking about all the similar conversations I have had. If I had I am not sure what it is. Maybe it is because it is Monday, and I always feel a little bit off on Mondays, but I woke up with an impending sense of doom that my 26th birthday is in a month. 26 is old!! Last week, I went to my routine dermatology appointment, and I found myself almost asking about Botox. Whoa slow the breaks; I want to still be able to show emotion!! For some reason, 26 sounds very adult, and currently, I don’t live a very adult life. My life mirrors that of a college frat boy. There are a wide variety of changes in my life that remind me I am no longer 21. Back in the good ole days, I could be on-the-go non-stop for weeks at a time with very little sleep. Every once in a while, I would take one day to stay-in, and re-charge my batteries. Now in my old age, I need far more than one day of relaxation, I need full weekends, and then that isn’t even enough. Thus, I decided to devote this weekend to some much-needed alone time. In this week’s column, we chat with one of my best friends, Katie Amey! I know it is cliché: I have been trying to start this blog for quite a while now. I always had a million excuses for why I couldn’t: “I am too busy with real work”, “I don’t have time”, “It probably won’t get anywhere”…blah, blah, blah. One day, about a month ago, I said, “fuck it, it is time to do what I really want”. Thus, NeonNotebook was born! I spend a vast majority of my time on the Internet, and I have always felt like there wasn’t a one-stop destination for gen-y girls. There are fabulous fashion blogs, inspiring I don’t even have a real blog, and I already suck at being a blogger. I officially started writing this post in July 2012 (right before my 25th bday). Then, I made it my New Years Resolution to blog more, but that hasn’t worked out so well either. Better late than never seems to be my official motto. So now, as a one-third of the way through the year resolution, I am going to start recording my journey to world domination.
