September 22, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Let me just start off by apologizing because I don’t really know where this post is going. Normally, when I sit down to write something, I have an outline of what I am going to say. However, this time I am just going to ramble because I need to get something off my chest.
The question I have is: Why are we (as in gen-y girls) all so obsessed with dating (or our lack there of)?
Myself included, I feel like there is this big, scary cloud hanging over my head because I am probably going to end up a

Last week, the lovely Amber Link, was our Career Confidential. She had tons a great advice, so I decided to break it up into two parts! The cool thing about Amber is that she landed the dream job right out of college. I would listen to what she has to say because she is definitely doing something right!
Working at a cool, hip start-up has sorta become a badge of honor. Everyone is looking for that next

I am spending the next few days in the Windy City, which is exciting for a few reasons:
I am meeting with a handful of new PR firms to see if we can work together in the future. I have flown through the Chicago airport a million times, but I have never actually spent any time in the city. It is kinda cold there (well, cold relative to Texas), so I am finally getting to preview my Fall wardrobe!
These mini vacays are the best part of my job because they keep my life exciting, and I love meeting new

Hello! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! This seems to be a common theme in my life: everything takes a little bit longer than I originally anticipate. I have learned to just accept it and embrace the mantra, “better late than never”.
Since I started my blog, I have been wanting to incorporate a column called, “Workin’ Girl Wardrobe”, where we take a peek into the closets of bad ass career ladies to see what they are wearing to work.
Getting dressed for work can be challenging. You want to look professional without being stuffy. And most importantly,

September 12, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I feel guilty ALL the time.
I could be having the best day ever, you know the days when the stars are aligned–my hair isn’t frizzy, the barista prepares my iced coffee perfectly, I land major placements for all my clients, etc.—and yet I still have this gnawing sense of guilt in the pit of my stomach. It seriously never goes away. I think it might be a hereditary Jewish guilty kind of thing
If I am out having fun with my friends, I feel guilty for not being at my computer working. On the flip side if I decide

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I never had a clear idea of what I wanted to do, but I feel like I always thought I wanted to do something “different.” I was in choir from a young age, and thought that I might do something with that. As I got older, I realized that wasn’t really possible, and

September 9, 2013 by Rebekah in Career, ETC. So, I just got approval from my editor at Entrepreneur.com to do a series on branding. Being the nerd I am, I am completely stoked to look at how some of the coolest companies successfully use a myriad of tools to establish a cohesive brand. The companies I am going to cover don’t just have customers: they have fans. As I started to plan out my first column, it got me thinking about the importance of personal branding. Even if you aren’t aiming to an entrepreneur, it is important to create a personal brand that helps you stand out professionally.

September 2, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I am not going to lie I had pretty low expectations for my birthday this weekend. The past year has been so crazy busy that the big day just kinda crept up on me. Birthdays are kinda like New Years; you build everything up, and it just becomes a disappointment. I have to tell you though, despite my best efforts to be a debbie downer, my birthday kicked ass thanks to the amazing people in my life. I feel so loved and appreciated, and it honestly feels really nice.
The one thing I do love about birthdays is they allow

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I’ve always loved writing and wanted to write stories when I grew up. I loved fiction and was obsessed with Star Wars as a child, so I thought becoming the next George Lucas would be the end-all, be-all. Then, in high school, after Hurricane

August 27, 2013 by Rebekah in Career, ETC. When you are not in school anymore, and the year isn’t broken up by summer vacation, winter break, etc., time just meshes together. I am so out of the loop that I didn’t even realize school was back in session until I had a “oh shit” moment as I sped through a school zone this morning.
I definitely don’t miss doing homework and taking tests, but I totally miss the excitement of starting a new year. I am sad that I no longer have a reason to buy school supplies and pick out a first day outfit!
For all the
