Workin’ Girl Wardrobe: Mallorie Mach

Hello! I hope everyone is having a fabulous week! This seems to be a common theme in my life: everything takes a little bit longer than I originally anticipate. I have learned to just accept it and embrace the mantra, “better late than never”.

Since I started my blog, I have been wanting to incorporate a column called, “Workin’ Girl Wardrobe”, where we take a peek into the closets of bad ass career ladies to see what they are wearing to work.

Getting dressed for work can be challenging. You want to look professional without being stuffy. And most importantly, especially if you are constantly on the go, you also want to be comfortable.

My awesome intern, Mallorie Mach, agreed to show us a few of her favorite pieces; I swear her closet looks like it is straight out of a J.Crew catalog. Gotta love her for always being such a good sport, and putting up with all my crazy ideas. In reality, she does have an awesome personal style. That is not easy when you live in Texas, and it is 110 degrees every day during the summer.

Check out Mallorie’s obsession with shift dresses, color and J.Crew.

1)   What are you top three pieces for work?

My top three pieces for work are shift dresses with a defined waste line (see my collection below!), linen skirts, and chiffon printed tops.

2) What should every career girl have in her closet?

I think that every career girl should have bright colors in her closet. Just because you have a serious job doesn’t mean you have to dress in all black. Picking out a fun, colorful outfit can be one of the easiest ways to make your day better.

3)   List you favorite clothing brands for work clothes

My top clothing brand is by far J.Crew but I also love LOFT and Banana Republic. Ann Taylor is fantastic when you are really trying to impress.

4)   What is your wardrobe missing?

My wardrobe is definitely missing colored dress pants. I think that the ankle pant is definitely flattering on most body types. I am on a mission to find the perfect pair and just haven’t quite gotten there yet.

5)   What is your ideal interview outfit?

My ideal interview outfit would be a solid colored shift dress, a fabulous statement necklace and either flats or a great pair of heels, depending on the job you are interviewing for.

And honestly, the most impressive thing about Mallorie’s closet is her organization. It is not only sorted by color, but sleeve length, as well. I know, IMPRESSIVE!
