So, the month of June is almost over, and I can’t believe it. Where has this year gone?
We officially have 6 Glamtrepreneur events under our belt, and 8 more scheduled in the coming months. It is crazy to me that this little idea I had is becoming a reality, and could potentially become my full time career. This past month has been a huge learning process for me. Not only have I learned so much more about running a business, but I feel like it has really given me a lot of confidence as a person.
I thought it would be a perfect time to do a recap of the good, bad and ugly things I have realized:
- Getting started really is the hardest part. After you take that first step, everything seems a lot less scary.
- Don’t apologize for asking questions. This is something I still probably need to work on. I am pretty anal about planning, so I always ask a lot of questions about logistics. Whenever I had another question, I always felt kinda dumb. I just want everything to go smoothly. I actually realized this is a good thing, so I need to stop feeling guilty/annoying.
- Being a teacher is hard. I have a new found respect for all the teachers out there. I am only with the kids for 2-3 hours a day, but by the end, I am exhausted. I couldn’t imagine doing this for 7 hours every single day.
- I am extremely grateful. I know I have said this a million times before, but I am. I am grateful to my parents for teaching me confidence, and leading by example when it comes to work ethic. I also lucky to have such amazing friends and family, in general. It feels good to have people in my life that care and support me.
- Doing something that matters is rewarding. I know this sounds obvious. Yes, I do feel a sense of gratification when I finish a day of PR work, but this is different. When I am done with a workshop, I can’t stop smiling. Even though I am usually exhausted, I still have the energy to do more things. I think this signifies that I am doing what I am meant to do in life.
- At the end of the day, having confidence is all that matters. While I know my programs aren’t life changing, I just hope that I can play a little part in teaching girls that they can do anything that they want in life.
Not going to lie, I am excited to have the next two weeks off from Glam events. Then, I am looking forward to doing it all again next month. I have been trying to share pictures on social media, but here are some highlights from the #BizGlam pop ups:
I have been acquiring a new jewelry collection from the workshops.

Melissa Guerra, of Melissa Guerra: Latin Kitchen, teaches the girls an important lesson: write everything down. This is how ideas become reality. Also, she had the girls write down one dream that they can achieve today, and one big, long term goal. It was pretty cool!
