Stacy Anderson has a blog called, The Hurried Hostess. As someone who owns a small business, has a husband, two small kids, and two dogs – she is always running to the next activity.
But even a lack of time doesn’t keep her from wanting to host small get togethers with friends, make home cooked meals (that everyone will actually eat), or crafting a cute DIY project. She started the blog to show others how to do these things!
Stacy also hosts retreats where women can relax and enjoy some girl time. The next retreat is in the Austin area on September 11th – 13th. Details are here.
Below are her “3 Things”:
I wish I had traveled more. Don’t get me wrong, I went on a trip every year because travel has always been something I’ve been passionate about, but I wish I had really invested in my travel. Instead of road trips with the girls, I wish I had saved more and traveled abroad with them instead.
Don’t just “go with the flow”. When you’re in college (and that stage of life) everyone and everything is telling you who you “should” be. There will be times when your friends want to go somewhere or do something and you don’t want to go but you feel left out if you don’t go. Guess what? You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do. There will be relationships that test your boundaries. There will be teachers and bosses who make you feel less than you deserve. Be your own person. Do your own thing. Remember your morals and standards and that you deserve the best.
I wish I had set personal goals besides “I want this degree and that job”. Looking back, I wish I had set goals for myself that included personal interests, my spiritual beliefs, and working on myself as a person. The degrees, jobs, and side hustles are nice, but they’re not everything.
*BONUS* Remember to be still. You don’t always have to be hustling. You don’t always have to be striving for the next thing. Take a time out. Go into nature and just breathe. Relax. Leave the phone behind.
