The Mission: World Domination

I don’t even have a real blog, and I already suck at being a blogger. I officially started writing this post in July 2012 (right before my 25th bday). Then, I made it my New Years Resolution to blog more, but that hasn’t worked out so well either.

Better late than never seems to be my official motto. So now, as a one-third of the way through the year resolution, I am going to start recording my journey to world domination.

The last 6 or 7 years have been a blur of the good, the bad and the terrifying. In a nutshell, they went something like this:

1) Got rejected from all my dream colleges in NYC

2) Went to my last choice college in Boston

3) Had a nervous break down, and left Boston

4) Moved back home to my parents house, and went through a rebellious phase (you know the typical: sex, drugs and rock n’ roll).

5) After being rejected from my dream school in NYC 3 different times, I FINALLY GOT IN!! In my case, fourth time is a charm.

6) Interned, Interned, and Interned some more (NYLON, Vouge, People’s Revolution)…

7) Graduated with a degree in communications, and discovered the wonderful world of freelance PR.

8) Moved to Austin, Texas and my freelance work tripled.

9) Now I am the proud owner of Fifteen Media

The goal: turn my small freelance business into a global media empire. Exciting? Yes! Terrifying? YES!

Contrary to popular belief, working for your self isn’t about sleeping till noon, calling all the shots and living a glamourous life of no responsibility. Instead, it is about hard work, learning how to deal with the haters and trying to have fun while doing it all.

Let’s be real. I ultimately hope I become someone awesome, and this blog gets turned into my memoir. However, for right now, this blog is just a place for me to celebrate the triumphs, vent about the set backs, and over-share the details of my personal life.

So, here we go…
