PSA: Stop Waiting Till you are Skinny to Live Your Life

The other day I was having a conversation with an acquaintance of mine, and she kept telling me about all the things she was going to do when she lost weight. I left the conversation feeling annoyed and angry because she was willing to pause her whole life for something so superficial. But mostly, I was sad that she couldn’t see that she was already fabulous.

I honestly hate talking about weigh because it should be a non-issue. Who cares? Really.

However, this conversation just really left me thinking about all the similar conversations I have had. If I had a quarter for every time, I heard one of my friends say, “well, I will do this when I lose 30 lbs.” or “when I lose another 15 lbs, I will wear this”, I would be a rich lady. I am totally guilty of it too, but at the risk of sounding insensitive, here is my message to you: GET OVER IT!!! Our lives are so much more substantial than a number on a scale.

Would you ever like someone just because of how much they weigh? NO. Thus, no one likes you because of how skinny or fat you are.

It is fine and dandy to set personal weight loss goals for yourself, but you can’t put your life on hold while you are achieving them. How ridiculous does that sound? Free yourself, ladies! This mindset is not healthy! Quality of life isn’t dependent on the size of your clothes.

Here is my weekend dare to you: do something NOW that you were planning to do when you are 30lbs lighter. How good would that feel? Start accomplishing all your dreams and aspirations today, rather than when everything is perfect. Our weight isn’t what is making us ugly/less attractive, our lack of self-confidence is.
