It’s almost 2017, so you know what that means-resolution time. But think about how many resolutions your or maybe a loved one has made and didn’t stick with. NeonNotebook wants to try and help you crush your 2017 fitness goals with some easy and realistic tips over the next few weeks.
First, we want to highlight some of fun and motivating workout classes found in Austin that can easily fit in your busy schedule. A lot of these classes are only 30 minutes, so no excuses!
9Round Fitness– If you have a hectic, constantly changing schedule, this fitness facility is for you. Simply walk in, find a trainer and have them guide you through a 30-minute kickboxing workout that mixes both strength and cardio components to torch tons of calories. The beauty of this workout is that you don’t need to even know what your schedule is. On top of that, the trainers mix up the classes so you’ll never get bored of repeating the same class. And with three studios in the Austin area, its never been easier to find a 9Round Fitness.
Kor180– Getting a class pack at a boutique studio may seem like you’ll be doing the same workout continuously, but not at kor180. This studio offers both Pilates and spin, and offers a wide variety of classes in both. You can take 30-minute classes in either area, or take more extended classes if you have time. If you want to go all out, the studio also offers half-and-half classes, where clients have burned up to 1200 calories. Kor180 also has two convenient Austin locations.
Define– Sometimes your best option is to workout during your lunch break, and Define definitely has options if your looking for a class at noon. The schedule changes between offering full-length versions of their Body class, which is similar to barre, and Rev, the studio’s version of spin. They also offer Express body classes many days during lunch, which squeezes their full-length barre class into a half-hour. Similar to kor180, Define offers a variety of other classes as well, like yoga and bounce, which involves trampolines.
Orange Theory Fitness– Since we’re emphasizing speed here, it may seem strange to include a studio with predominantly hour-long classes. However, Orange Theory gives you a bigger bang for your calorie burn as it relies on the science of Excess Post-Exercise Oxygen Consumption (or EPOC), which has you try to reach a certain heart rate zone for extended periods of time. So, even though you torch between 500-10000 calories a class, you continue burning calories up to 36 hours after, perfect for the times you’re sitting at the office all day.
Pure Pilates Austin– Pure Pilates isn’t your typical Pilates class. Instead of using just mat or a typical Pilates reformer, class-goers use Megaformers. These machines force your core to work as you try to maintain stable during class. The 45-minute classes combine cardio intervals with strength moves to work your muscles to complete exhaustion. If you’re looking for a more intense burn than the average Pilates class, Pure Pilates Austin is definitely the studio for you. However, be warned! You will sweat, so it may be best to go after work.
Here are just some highlights of fitness studios in Austin, but there are tons out there. Find a workout that works for you and you’ll definitely stick with your fitness goals.
