Have 5 Minutes? Make Your Own Breakfast Tomorrow AM

I am going back to work tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. Yikes, I know, getting back into my regular, old routine is not going to be so fun. To top it all off, I am REALLY REALLY trying hard to keep my New Year’s resolution of saving money. That means no more Starbucks coffee or breakfasts from the little cafe next to my office.

My morning routine is going DIY. I have dusted off my Keurig and have scoured the Internet for quick morning recipes that take 5 minutes at the most. I like these recipes from

What I Ate: Danny’s (Laredo Edition)

I doubt any of you will ever find yourself in Laredo, Texas, but if you do make sure to check out Danny’s. I obviously come to Laredo to visit my grandparents, but the tortillas at Danny’s are definitely the icing on the cake…SO GOOD. I have only been in Laredo for 24 hours, and I have already been to Danny’s twice…don’t judge.

IMG_1887As you can see from the menu, there is a wide variety of options. Obviously, you want to get the Mexican food.

Where I Shopped: North Loop

Even though I am Jewish, Christmas is still my favorite holiday. Why? Because it allows me to catch up on fun things like blog posts. It is the only day of the year that I have absolutely no obligations because obviously no one is working (yay! no e-mails) and all of my friends are busy with their families. It is so nice.

I have a confession: I have lived in Austin for over 2 years, and until last weekend, I had never shopped at two of Austin’s vintage staples: Blue Velvet and Room Service. They are

Want to Become a SuperWoman? Incorporate These 3 Super Powers into Your Routine

I woke up this morning feeling a little bit like SuperWoman. On normal mornings, I press snooze a few dozen times, begrudgingly drag myself to the gym, and don’t really feel fully alive till I have consumed at least two very large cups of coffee. Today was different: I rolled out of bed as soon as my alarm went off, made it to the gym on time for my class, and now I am listening to Katy Perry’s “Roar” on repeat. I think all this Christmas cheer has gotten to me.

So, when I realized that I had scheduled Read More

What I Ate: épicerie

épicerie ROCKS! I honestly don’t really know what else to say, other than, I love everything that I have tried on the menu. Not only is the food pretty stellar, the atmosphere is great too. If I ever owned a house, I would want it to look exactly like épicerie: hardwood floors, white wood cabinets, leather ceiling (YES! you heard right), brass/rose gold light fixtures. It is a bit too cold right now, but in the Spring/Summer, the outside patio is the best spot in town for a chill happy hour.

Where I Shopped: Leander Flea Market

My mission to decorate my new apartment with the most kitschy, random stuff ever took me on a little adventure to the flea market in Leander, a 20 minute drive from Austin.

Leander is stereotypical Texas: there are a lot of churches and an abundance of fields with cows. It is charming.

I decided to check it out because I noticed that some of the vendors were posting really cool pieces on Craigslist. I am glad I ventured out there because the Leander Flea Market is a wonderfully strange, yet awesome place.

Typically at a flea market, each
