As a follow-up to the lamp I gussied up with a little decoupage, I give you a nightstand to place it on. No hardware required. This is a project that can fill any crafter’s desire.
All you really need to know are the materials I used to construct it, then you can be on your way…
Materials:
- Wooden crate from Michael’s Crafts (I used one of the 40% off coupons you can find online for this)
- 4 Wooden blocks (2″x2″)
- Wood glue
- Mod Podge
- Sponge brush
- Book pages or other paper materials to decoupage
Instructions:
– Use the wood glue to attach the wooden blocks to all four corners of the crate so that it will stand vertically. (If you want to decoupage the bottom of the crate and blocks too, glue the blocks last)
– Similar to the lampshade instructions, use your Mod Podge to start adhering pages to the crate. I chose to cover up the gaps in the slats with my paper materials to give the nightstand a solid look.
– Give the nightstand a final coat of Mod Podge to give the whole piece a cohesive look…
– And you’re DONE!
I thought about painting the wooden blocks black, but I have brown wooden furniture so opted to keep the natural wooden look. Here was my finished product:
This was another easy peasy project. If you try this, I would love to see your version! Share with us on the Neon Notebook Facebook page.
