Austin is constantly growing, so it’s always a good idea to keep your finger on the pulse and get to know new people. Networking groups and events offer many opportunities to get to know new people and to learn about new industries. Here’s a list of some networking groups and events you can get involved in.
The BASHH– This group puts together monthly happy hours in order for local Austinites to get together, have a drink and make friends. Typically, the events are held at bars downtown and, if you arrive early enough, have a free drink ticket for a local beer or vodka drink. This group is all about fun and aims to make everyone feel comfortable with their laid back attitude. They even provide fun stickers to serve as icebreakers! #BossBabesATX– This group is all about girl power! Founded on the idea that women shouldn’t be scared to embrace their accomplishments, #BossBabesATX encourages women in Austin to come together and celebrate their work. If you want to get involved, #BossBabesATX hosts bi-monthly meetings and monthly talks, but pepper in pop-up events like exhibitions and concerts. Creative Mornings Austin– If you’re a morning person, this group is for you. One Friday a morning a month, anyone is welcome to come check out a new speaker and eat breakfast. Creative Mornings started in New York City, and has grown to multiple cities across the United States. Across the country, people gather to hear different speakers based on a certain theme. Campfire Networking– Tech Ranch supports and connects local entrepreneurs, so it only makes sense they would host events to get people together to discuss their own ventures. Twice a month, Tech Ranch hosts Campfire Networking, where entrepreneurs can meet and greet other Austinites with similar interests.
