January 7, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion I wouldn’t normally do a straight up review of a company, but when one of my most frugal, mall-hating friends (shout out Mandy!), wouldn’t stop raving about Stitch Fix, I had to check it out.
Stitch Fix is an online personal styling service for women. Essentially, you fill out a lengthy questionnaire about your personal style, submit it your Stitch Fix stylist, and voilà 5 items will show up at your door.
I was a little bit skeptical because as someone that loves to shop, I didn’t think someone else could pick out clothes for me. In the

January 6, 2014 by Rebekah in 3 Things, Career 20 years ago, Jan Marini, owner and CEO of Jan Marini Skin Research (JMSR), changed the way that skincare products were sold.
In the 90s, plastic surgeons and dermatologists didn’t sell products directly from their offices. Now, you almost expect to buy new products when you go see your doctor. With her first company, M.D. Formulations/M.D. Forte, Jan was one of the first to enter “the professional channel”, and sell skincare products directly

January 5, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I am going back to work tomorrow for the first time in two weeks. Yikes, I know, getting back into my regular, old routine is not going to be so fun. To top it all off, I am REALLY REALLY trying hard to keep my New Year’s resolution of saving money. That means no more Starbucks coffee or breakfasts from the little cafe next to my office.
My morning routine is going DIY. I have dusted off my Keurig and have scoured the Internet for quick morning recipes that take 5 minutes at the most. I like these recipes from

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was very little, I wanted to be a Veterinarian because I loved animals so much. By the age of 9 or 10, I definitely wanted to be a clothing designer.
2. Fast-forward several years/decades. How did you land (or create) your current position? I

December 29, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion I have been feeling pretty uninspired lately. Work has really slowed down because of the holidays, which has been super nice. I didn’t realize how much I needed a break. This past week, all I have done is hang out with my friends/family, eat tortillas with queso, and haven’t really changed out of sweatpants. It has been perfect.
This is an outfit I wore a few weekends ago to brunch. I wanted to wear something comfortable/easy, yet I wasn’t in the mood to wear jeans again.

December 27, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I doubt any of you will ever find yourself in Laredo, Texas, but if you do make sure to check out Danny’s. I obviously come to Laredo to visit my grandparents, but the tortillas at Danny’s are definitely the icing on the cake…SO GOOD. I have only been in Laredo for 24 hours, and I have already been to Danny’s twice…don’t judge.
As you can see from the menu, there is a wide variety of options. Obviously, you want to get the Mexican food.

I always saw myself as a mom, which is funny, because I am like the last of any of my childhood girlfriends to actually get there. No wait, I am the only one of my childhood girlfriends who isn’t married with

Even though I am Jewish, Christmas is still my favorite holiday. Why? Because it allows me to catch up on fun things like blog posts. It is the only day of the year that I have absolutely no obligations because obviously no one is working (yay! no e-mails) and all of my friends are busy with their families. It is so nice.
I have a confession: I have lived in Austin for over 2 years, and until last weekend, I had never shopped at two of Austin’s vintage staples: Blue Velvet and Room Service. They are

December 22, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Yup, it is that time of year again: cold season! I know, SO FUN! This would be the worst week ever to get sick; you don’t want to miss out on Christmas AND New Years. What a terrible way to end 2013, and start 2014.
As I have mentioned a million times, I am terrible in the kitchen; recipes overwhelm me. However, when I saw these cold fighting juice recipes from Omega Juicers, I had to post them because they are SO easy. Each one only involves a few ingredients that you can just throw into your blender

December 21, 2013 by Rebekah in ETC., Fashion As with everything in my life, there is always a story. Here is the story about my hair. I swear finding a good hair stylist is harder than finding a soul mate. Or maybe I was just majorly spoiled because I had the best hairstylist EVER in NYC. No matter what crazy hairstyle I wanted, she had no problem making it happen.
Since moving to Austin, one of my biggest complaints is that there are A LOT of hair salons, but not many great stylists. Total white girl problem, I know.
