Austin American-Statesman presents Statesman Capitol 10,000Join the Austin American-Statesman for one of the biggest 10K runs in the nation!  The run has turned into a two-day event that even includes a Health & Fitness Expo and finish line party with breakfast tacos, beer and bloody marys.

Sun Radio and Hill Country Conservancy presents Earth Day LiveCelebrate Earth Day surrounded by beautiful oak trees and great music. Americana bans will set the backdrop for a day full of fun with the Austin Hill Country Conservancy and Sun Radio.
 
Monday, April 24

Fashion Revolution Day ATXCommemorate the day three years ago when over a thousand people were killed and over 2,500 were injured when a Bangladesh garment factory collapsed. These women worked for a U.S. fashion brand. Honor their lives and educate about the dangers of fast fashion at this event, which will have discussions and activities for participants who want to learn about the women all over the world who make the world’s clothes.

The 23rd Annual AGE AwardsThe annual AGE Awards event, hosted by AGE of Central Texas, recognizes outstanding achievements by individuals and organizations whose leadership, achievements, and contributions have had a significant impact on the quality of life for aging adults and their caregivers in Central Texas. Enjoy live music, heavy appetizers and more while celebrating those who are doing good things in the community! Attendees are also entered into a raffle to win an Apple watch. Tickets required.

Wednesday, April 26

The Wine Down-This free event celebrates the wonderful restaurants and colorful scene of downtown Austin. Occurring each month, Wine Down will have a different chef from the 2nd Street Distric provide light bites while party-goers drink The Dreaming Tree Wine and listen to guest DJs. This month, try food from Alimentari 28 and visit the pop-up shop from Sikara & Co. 

Thursday, April 27

Under a Texas Sky: 19th Annual UMLAUF Garden PartyThis event, unlike many others in Austin, takes place in the historic UMLAUF gardens. Guests can stroll by the statues, taste snacks from some of Austin’s most well known restaurants and dance to live music all while supporting ULAUF’s efforts to provide access to art and art education to Central Texas schoolchildren. Tickets required.

Greyhound Pets of America Central Texas presents Greyt Gatsby Gala- Help find adoptable greyhounds great homes at this 1920’s inspired costume party. Proceeds will benefit retired racing greyhounds medical expenses. Tickets required.

Friday, April 28
National Domestic Violence Hotline presents A Masquerade to Unmask Domestic ViolenceRaise awareness and money to help those who have been affected by domestic violence. Party goers will enjoy a dinner by restaurant Salty Sow and have the opportunity to bid in the live auction, which features tickets to the Super Bowl in 2018.

Alton Brown Live: Eat Your Science-Food Network personality and James Beard Award winner Alton Brown will showcase his skills in both science and food for a night of fin-filled entertainment. Tickets required.

Saturday, April 29

YMCA Family Play DayVolunteer with the Young Women’s Alliance group to work at this YMCA event, which gives a chance for the community to come together and learn about Y programs.

Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center presents Wildflower Roadside TourTake in the beauty of Texas wildflowers on this tour through Texas Hill Country. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and learn more about the different types of wildflowers that bloom in Texas. Guests will receive breakfast, coffee and a boxed lunch and whiskey cocktail at a picnic at Garrison Brothers’ Distillery. Following lunch, guests will get to see the Texas White House and LBJ Ranch. Tickets required.

Slow Food Austin presents World Disco Soup DaySo much perfectly edible food is wasted every day, and Slow Food Austin wants to stop it. Join the group to take fresh foods headed to the landfill and turn it into a new culinary creation to hand out to the public.
