3 Things I Wish I Had Known in My 20’s: Erin Schirack

Erin Schirack , Director of Cycle at Studio Three Chicago, shares her “3 Things” with us:

It’s Ok to say NO– in my 20’s I thought I had to say yes to everything even if it was something I did not want to do. I got burnt out so fast and ended up making myself so unhappy because I was spreading myself thin and doing things I did not want to be doing.  I quickly learned that it’s ok to say no and that people will gain more respect for you when they see that you respect yourself.
BUY THE SHOES!– Yes, shoes, pictures, clothes, whatever,  but I feel this applies to so much more. It’s about doing things that make you happy and splurging on yourself.  It’s so easy for us to talk ourselves out of doing things we really want to do so why not just seize the moment and do it.  That feeling you get when you just let go is what living is all about. Enjoy the ride!

Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life. For years I worked in careers that made me miserable because I was just chasing paychecks and thought it was just all about how much money I could make. I had always had a passion for fitness but never thought I could make it into a career. It was’t until I was 30 years old that I made the leap and jumped into fitness full time. That leap is one I will never look back on! I LOVE what I do and am so happy I followed my passion.
