HANDSTAND APP

Want to have an in-person trainer without the inconvenience of going to the gym? That’s where Handstand comes in, a new app that allows users in select cities (like Austin) to choose from a variety of trainers to come to their home (or any destination of your choice) and train them. Users also can select what type of workout they want to do, from boxing to circuit training to pilates. Handstand’s goal is to make personal training more convenient and accessible by keeping costs low. They also pride themselves on only hiring top, certified trainers, so no fear your trainer might not be up to snuff.

AKT ON DEMAND

Trainer Anna Kaiser has worked with celebrities like Kelly Ripa, Shakira and Karlie Kloss, but now she wants to bring her workouts into your home! Kaiser, who is noted for her dance cardio workouts, developed her AKT On Demand program with busy clients in mind. The program has over 2,000 minutes of workouts preloaded, but users can also make appointments to meet with one of her trainers live via Skype. On top of that, an AKT On Demand workshop also gives you access to a nutritionist, so you can create a totally tailored health and fitness program.

PELOTON

If you love spin class but want the high-intensity feeling of a class on your own time, Peloton is for you. Whenever you want to hop on your bike, you can choose to attend either a live class or get a class on demand. Peloton offers about 12-15 live classes a day, or you can choose from over a thousand classes already posted. You can even ride live, which will connect you to other people attending the same live class across the country to get the same feeling of community. While the bike itself is an investment, Peloton offers users more convenience then going to an actual class.
