Why did you seek out this particular job / start your company? My love of all natural ingredients and essential oils is why I started my company, Incredibalm. I was introduced to essential oils and immediately was amazed at the therapeutic effects they have on the body. I also have a passion for using all natural ingredients, especially in skin care. The idea of all natural and organic oils and butters combined with therapeutic-grade essential oils was perfect and a vision I couldn’t let go. My first products created were our all natural aromatherapy lip balms. Each lip balm not only softens and heals your lips, but you also receive the aromatherapy effect as you breathe in the benefits of the lip balm you are wearing. What started with all natural aromatherapy lip balms has now grown into a skin care line offering all natural whipped body balms and anti-aging skin care.
How has life changed (hopefully for the better 😉 since you landed this job / launched this company? Life is great. I could not ask for anything more. I have my wonderful and supportive husband and our two amazing children. To have a successful business to go along with that truly is a blessing. My favorite quote that I always hoped I could say is “If you do what you love, you will never work a day in your life.” And that is a wonderful feeling to have accomplished that with Incredibalm.
And now: WHAT 3 THINGS DID YOU WISH YOU HAD KNOWN IN YOUR 20’S?
Change is good. We are often resistant to change and become content with things exactly how they are. However, change brings knowledge and new experiences. With change you build self confidence and, although sometimes scary, you discover new opportunities and things you never thought you could do. My business is forever changing, which creates new and exciting ideas that I now know opens doors for more opportunities.
It’s okay that everybody will not love your ideas. Nobody’s opinion is more important than your own. So often in my twenties I was more concerned with what other people thought and may have missed out on opportunities because of it. I now realize it doesn’t matter if someone isn’t on the same page as you. It’s your vision and your dream.
You CAN always get what you want….if you work really hard at it. Don’t be afraid to pursue your dreams. Mistakes happen and make you better and your business better. Don’t give up. When you have that gut feeling, go with it. Don’t let your talent and your dreams slip through your fingers because you think it can’t happen. Work really hard and get what you want!
