What’s Up with Glam?

You know how some people thrive under pressure? I am not that person…I completely fall apart.

Even though my first “BizGlam Pop Up Workshop” with SA Youth isn’t until June 12th, I made a deadline for myself to have everything packed and ready to go by this weekend.  Why? Because this gives me almost two weeks to check and re-check that I have everything. I know, it probably seems a bit anal, but there are so many small pieces that I am afraid will fall through the cracks.

The workshops are broken into three main sections: branding, production/design, and pricing. How exactly will the girls learn these things? Through a fun art project! The thing about art projects is that they require tons of supplies and planning. It is all good though!

Each weekend for the past month, I have focused on getting one part ready to go. This has involved lots of trips to Dollar General, Costco, teacher supply stores, as well as, multiple orders from Amazon. Yesterday, I completed the last task on my to-do list, which was to print the actual “business plan” worksheets for the girls!

I am not going to lie, I originally thought that when I crossed the final thing off the to-do list, I would be overwhelmed with joy and excitement. I was definitely overwhelmed…overwhelmed by fear. Don’t get me wrong, I am excited, but I am also anxious because I have no idea what to expect. To me, the curriculum that we have created seems fun, but I have no idea what 10 year old girls will think. From the beginning, I figured that the only way to find out was just to jump in and do it…so here we go!

Each one of the workshop is very different, depending on what our partner organization wanted. For example, the pop ups that we are doing with Girls, Inc., will include guest speakers.

Major shout out to the amazing local female entrepreneurs that are taking time out of their schedules to join us:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I have probably said this a million times, but a business cannot be built with only one person. You need a team of amazing people to turn a vision into a reality. I am so grateful for everyone that has helped me the last few months. Words cannot express how much I owe y’all!
