By looking at me, you probably wouldn’t guess that I am actually pretty athletic. Last year, I completely my first half marathon (in SF) and I usually workout about 5-6 times a week. I don’t necessarily workout for physical reasons; instead, I hit the gym for my own mental sanity. If I don’t exercise, I become the Wicked Witch of the West.
My hour a day at the gym is my happy time, with no texts, e-mails, social media etc. I love spinning, and I would do that everyday if I could. However, my legs need a break sometimes, so I mix it up with yoga and weight lighting too.
When it comes to my gym fashion, I am usually pretty plain: an old t-shirt and a pair of leggings. I have never really understood the appeal of brands, such as Lululemon. Why would you pay so much money for clothes to get sweaty in?
When I heard about a new active-wear brand called, Cory Vines, I was pretty excited to check it out. The 25-year old founder, Daniel Lieberman explains why he started the brand, “I couldn’t find any high quality workout shirts at an accessible price point and I was tired of being a billboard for other big mainstream brands”. Works for us! Those are good reasons.
They sent me over the The Every Wear V Neck to check out. As you can tell by the picture, it doesn’t really look like a workout shirt, which I like. The reason I usually just wear old t-shirts to exercise in is because athletic shirts are usually very fitted, and I hate that. This shirt is the perfect fit and length.
Corny, I know. When I was initially planning this little photo shoot, I was aiming for tons of action shots…obviously.
My original plan was to go to brunch with my cousin, and then go back to her house to take the pics with all my athletic gear. However, we saw some cool street art, and decided, “hey, why not?”
Street art and athletic clothes…it makes no real sense, but it looks cool! This is supposed to be a running pose.
Location: Baylor Street Art Wall; I didn’t even realize this awesomeness existed. Stay turned, there will be many more photo shoots here.
