3 Things I Wished I Had Known In My 20s: Hallie Rich

alternavites boxHallie Rich grew up in the vitamin industry; her family consisted of formulators, manufacturers and marketers. While she spent many years promoting vitamins, the irony was she had never actually taken a vitamin because she couldn’t swallow pills. As they say, “necessity is the mother of innovation”, so she decided to create the alternaVites brand to solve the latter problem.

She created a comprehensive multivitamin & mineral mixture in crystal powder form that melts quickly in your mouth, like a pixy stick!

Now that she has created a wildly successful company, she sits down with us to chat about the things she wish she had known in her 20s:

1- Confidence cannot be over-rated.  If you don’t believe in yourself, no one will.  People may try to knock you down so it’s important to feel that you are doing the right thing for the right reasons and that you are the right person to be doing it.  Otherwise, you will be susceptible to losing your drive and focus.  Believing in yourself is key.

2- Plan your work, and work your plan.  Keep your goals in sight at all times, but remember that getting there is not necessarily quick and easy.  If you have patience and know that each step is one step closer to the success you visualize, not only will you achieve it, but it will be that much sweeter when you do.

3- Don’t forget your mistakes…embrace them.   Know that whether in personal matters or business affairs, everyone you encounter has made mistakes – some big, and some small, so don’t be embarrassed by them.  Just make it a learning experience – figure out why you made the decision(s) that led to the mistake so that next time, you won’t make them again.
