It may only be February, but the weather in Austin already feels like spring. The new spring season is bringing in tons of fresh, fun clothing trends to update your closet. Here are our five picks for this spring’s must-have items.
- Stripes- Stripes in bright, punchy colors popped up all over the runways this season. And these aren’t your average stripes-think of bands in all different shapes, sizes and shades. Brands like RED Valentino and Proenza Schouler had striped ensembles all over the runway, but more reasonable brands like Banana Republic have options as well.
- Khaki- Utilitarianism is in this spring. Oversize cargos and boxy coats dominated the runways at Balenciaga and Stella For more affordable options, check out J. Crew. We love this look for the office!
- Exposed Shoulders- Following the off-the shoulder moment, designers have been baring women’s shoulders all season. This spring, the “flashdance” shoulder is a key trend. Designers like Rodarte and Prabal Gurung showed off model’s shoulders in off-the-shoulder pieces.
- Updated Athleisure– As if we already couldn’t get enough of the athleisure trend, designed have made it even better. With color blocked body suits and modernized sweatpants, you’ll be lounging all season in style. Vetements and Alexander Wang featured this style on the runway, but we love local brand Outdoor Voices for modern, sporty pieces.
- Vacation Prints– It wouldn’t be spring without bright colors and funky prints. Tibi and Peter Pilotto featured fun dresses in colorful prints, perfect for a weekend getaway, or when you’re in need of one.
These trends will bring a fresh, updated look to your wardrobe. Try one of them next time you’re in need of a new outfit!
