I have been feeling pretty uninspired lately. Work has really slowed down because of the holidays, which has been super nice. I didn’t realize how much I needed a break. This past week, all I have done is hang out with my friends/family, eat tortillas with queso, and haven’t really changed out of sweatpants. It has been perfect. This is an outfit I wore a few weekends ago to brunch. I wanted to wear something comfortable/easy, yet I wasn’t in the mood to wear jeans again. I doubt any of you will ever find yourself in Laredo, Texas, but if you do make sure to check out Danny’s. I obviously come to Laredo to visit my grandparents, but the tortillas at Danny’s are definitely the icing on the cake…SO GOOD. I have only been in Laredo for 24 hours, and I have already been to Danny’s twice…don’t judge.

I always saw myself as a mom, which is funny, because I am like the last of any of my childhood girlfriends to actually get there. No wait, I am the only one of Even though I am Jewish, Christmas is still my favorite holiday. Why? Because it allows me to catch up on fun things like blog posts. It is the only day of the year that I have absolutely no obligations because obviously no one is working (yay! no e-mails) and all of my friends are busy with their families. It is so nice. I have a confession: I have lived in Austin for over 2 years, and until last weekend, I had never shopped at two of Austin’s vintage staples: Blue Velvet and Room Service. They are Yup, it is that time of year again: cold season! I know, SO FUN! This would be the worst week ever to get sick; you don’t want to miss out on Christmas AND New Years. What a terrible way to end 2013, and start 2014. As I have mentioned a million times, I am terrible in the kitchen; recipes overwhelm me. However, when I saw these cold fighting juice recipes from Omega Juicers, I had to post them because they are SO easy. Each one only involves a few ingredients that you can just throw into your blender As with everything in my life, there is always a story. Here is the story about my hair. I swear finding a good hair stylist is harder than finding a soul mate. Or maybe I was just majorly spoiled because I had the best hairstylist EVER in NYC. No matter what crazy hairstyle I wanted, she had no problem making it happen. Since moving to Austin, one of my biggest complaints is that there are A LOT of hair salons, but not many great stylists. Total white girl problem, I know. I am a trend chaser. Wait, is that a real phrase or did I make that up? When it comes to clothes, I always must have the weird, new things that no one else wants because they will be out of style in like a month. I have been eying various pairs of wedge sneakers for a good 6 months now. However, I just didn’t really want to spend tons of money on them. Well, lucky for me, the pair I wanted from Target, went on sale for $10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was like I had won the lottery. Side note: if I woke up this morning feeling a little bit like SuperWoman. On normal mornings, I press snooze a few dozen times, begrudgingly drag myself to the gym, and don’t really feel fully alive till I have consumed at least two very large cups of coffee. Today was different: I rolled out of bed as soon as my alarm went off, made it to the gym on time for my class, and now I am listening to Katy Perry’s “Roar” on repeat. I started to do theater in high school, and I found myself to be completely unnatural on stage. I realized I was not cut out for it. 2. Fast-forward several years/decades. How did you land (or create) your current I hate when people get on their soapbox about managing your online reputation, by being careful about what you post on social media, etc. We live in a world where the lines are very blurred. Isn’t over sharing the whole point of social media? That being said, it is important to think twice before you post the wasted pics from Saturday night or send a compromising selfie to the guy you hooked up with last week. These things might seem harmless at the time, but they WILL come back to haunt you. You don’t want to lose an important opportunity |
