February 11, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I love Paris. On our first day there, we just sorta wandered aimlessly, and it was lovely. We probably walked a total of 5 or 6 miles, but it is the only way to see the city. While Paris is beautiful during the day, it is absolutely breathtaking at night…there is a reason it is called The City of Lights.
While I die for the food, coffee, history and art in Paris, the thing I love most is the effortless chicness of the Parisians people. Less is more.
If you plan on going to Paris, I have a few recommendations

1. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a kid I wanted to be a lot of things – a pro athlete, a Fly Girl on In Living Color, the editor of Vogue, an NFL cheerleader or a TV personality. As I grew older,

February 6, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I have a series of really random things that I happen to love. Street art is one of those obsessions. I am not taking about tagging/graffiti, but art that actually has some talent/thought behind it (I am sure anyone that actually knows art is rolling their eyes right about now because I have no idea what I am really talking about). I am not sure why I love it so much, but it makes me happy.
My all time favorite place for street art is the Wynwood area of Miami. It is basically the coolest neighborhood ever because each building

February 3, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Greetings from London!
My bff, Katie, moved to London, so I obviously had to come visit her. So far we have only been here a day, but we have accomplished so much.
A quick rundown of the last 24 hours: Landed at Heathrow, went to Camden Market, had a real British tea at Fortnum & Mason (I consumed wayyy too many scones with clotted cream), quick pit stop at Liberty London, had a pint at The Holly Bush in Hampstead Heath…and then, that brings us to dinner at Byron –

1) When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
So many things! I wanted to be a veterinarian until the first time I saw our vet take my cat’s temperature – that was a real deal breaker for me. After that, I wanted to be a teacher, a writer, and

This is really only a question I suppose a 40 something can answer and after perusing this site and reading some of the posts I whole-heartedly agree with their advice. It’s all very sound and practical and wise. None of which I usually am, and I especially wasn’t in my 20’s.
I had a great career, made good money, had a couple a great boyfriends. Then, I lost the good money and

January 21, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle Yes, this is another “Dear Diary” type post. Yes, I have become a typical gen-y female whining constantly about her love life (or lack there of). Yes, I know it is extremely annoying. Yes, I know, I am probably the reason I am still single.
Okay, I have to do a blog post about my date, so I can get it off my chest, and move on with my day. After taking a major break from online dating, I decided to re-activate my OkCupid profile a few weeks ago. So last night, I met up with a fellow that I

Wait, which part of my childhood does this refer to exactly? Could it be the time when I wanted to be the founder of an environmental advocacy organization (to save the neighborhood trees), or

January 17, 2014 by Rebekah in ETC., Lifestyle I don’t know if you are like me, but when it is actually time to eat, I can never think of anywhere to go. I like to post these restaurant reviews on Friday…just in case you need somewhere new to try this weekend. A few weeks ago, we tried Xian Sushi and Noodle, after reading a review in the local newspaper.
I love noodles of any kind, and this place claims to be Austin’s “first hand pulled noodle bar”, so I definitely wanted to check it out.
