Sheena has always been ambitious: she entered college at the age of 14, and graduated from UCLA at 19. So, it is I have been in the process of decorating my new apartment. I am determined to not buy anything from Ikea! I want to actually take the time to find unique, cool pieces. I have been spending an obscene amount of time scouring Craigslist, going to all my favorite vintage/thrift stores and browsing Etsy. I realized that if you ever want to sell something for way more than it is actually worth, just say it is vintage. So annoying. Luckily, a few months ago, I stumbled upon Thrifty Chicks Vintage, and ever since it has been one of my Um, yeah it is cold in Austin right now; the high today is only 39 degrees! Okay, I know I am a wuss because if you live somewhere like Minnesota or Iowa, this is nothing. For Texas, it is cold! And, during the winter, we don’t always think about what the harsh weather does to our hair! It can be brutal! About a week ago, I felt myself coming down with a cold. Of course my first thought was “Oh well, I guess I need to take a break from running!”…as though I had actually been running regularly. Think again. I hadn’t been running because I strained my knee. When it was finally better, I was “conveniently” needed another week of rest This is the challenge, people. Getting over excuses and making yourself workout! And boy is it a challenge! I decided to actually do some research to see if it was okay to run with a looming cold. I found Another shopping center, another fantastic restaurant. It is an on going theme in Austin. O’Daku Sushi is my go-to sushi spot; I am pretty sure I have taken everyone I know there. At this point, I have been so many times that I have ordered the majority of the menu, and everything rocks. This is a bold statement, but O’Daku is probably my favorite sushi place of all time. Cherin Sushi (another one of my favs) in the East Village is the only place that really compares. Then, watch James Franco and Seth Rogen’s AMAZING Read More So yesterday, it was extremely cold and rainy, and for anyone that knows me, knows I despise the cold. I am all about the hot Texas summers. The only thing that could motivate me to throw on an over-sized sweater, and leave my cozy apartment was the promise of hot pho. I stand by Oh man, it is a cold, rainy day here in Austin. Of course all the things I was going to do today involved being outside, so it looks like I am going to spend the day hibernating in my warm apartment. Not so bad. As the week goes on, I always compile a list of links/stories that I want to write about. However, most of the time, I never actually get around to writing the posts. For some reason, this week, I noticed a lot of things that were particularly inspiring to me. So, I wanted to share them with Every year, I look forward to the day when Starbucks brings back the festive, red holiday cups. In my mind, that is the official kick off to the holiday season, my favorite time of the year! I get really excited about Black Friday, Christmas music, and all the parties and get-togethers.
